dc.description.abstract This study investigated the current states of the operation of the "NURI curriculum, which was expanded from three to four years old in 2013, in kindergartens and childcare centers and the use of parents whose children are three to four years old. Based on the investigation, the study sought some improvement plan for the future. In order to figure out the present condition of operation, the study surveyed and interviewed 1,023 directors of kindergartens and childcare centers and 2,593 teachers of three to five year old classes and mixed-age classes; it also surveyed and interviewed 3,059 parents who had children aged three to five to find out the current states of use. For the current states of operation, the application of NURI curriculum as a system, how teachers applied it to their classrooms as a curriculum, organization and operation of NURI curriculum, early childhood assessment, financial aid, achievement perception and improvement demand were examined. In the current states of use, parents' perception on NURI curriculum, characteristics of use of kindergartens and childcare centers, support for cost, promotion of NURI curriculum, user satisfaction and improvement demand were examined. On the basis of the result, the following were suggested. As the improvement plans centered around the operation and the use of NURI curriculum, expansion of opportunity of field-centered teacher education and support, expansion of national-level material development and its dissemination, diversification of supporting media for NURI curriculum, creation of cooperative relationship between kindergartens and childcare centers and sharing of operation cases, simplification of administrative work, guarantee of supporting assistant teachers, constant promotion of NURI curriculum, reinforcement of common evaluation system and monitoring, developing and disseminating parent education materials, provision of standard for the operation of after-school courses, and advancing the eligibility to become a teacher were suggested. Since this study was the result of the analysis on the first year of「NURI Curriculum for Three to Five-Year Olds」implementation, the further follow-up studies need to be continued. -
