영유아보육시설의 특별활동 실태 및 인식

Abstract

본 연구는 수도권에 거주하는 영유아 어머니 156명을 대상으로 그들의 자녀가 다니고 있는 영유아보육시설의 특별활동 실태를 조사하고 이에 대한 인식을 살펴보았다. 조사 결과, 보육시설의 94.3%가 특별활동을 실시하고 있었으며, 학부모들은 특별활동이 내용상 필요한 교육이기 때문에 참여한다고 하였다. 영유아들은 평균적으로 2.6개정도의 특별활동에 참여하고 있었고, 외국어와 체육활동을 많이 하고 있었다. 특별활동 비용으로 국공립시설의 경우 40,000원 정도, 민간시설의 경우75,000원 정도를 지출하였다. 학부모의 67%가 특별활동이 필요하다고 하였으며, 그 이유로는 다양한 경험을 제공해주기 때문이라고 응답하였다. 본 연구결과에 기초하여 특별활동의 효과검증, 표준보육과정의 내용 보완, 부모교육, 특별활동에 대한 가이드라인 마련 등의 정책제언을 하였다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the status of extra curricula activities at child care centers in Seoul and Gyeonggi-Do, and to make policy suggestions. The data were obtained with 156 parents' perceptions. The study showed that 94.3% of child care centers run extra curricula activities and children participated in 2.6 extra curricula activities on average. They mainly participated in foreign language and athletic activities. They spent about 40,000 won at public child care centers and about 75,000 won at private child care centers each month. The survey also showed that the major purpose of extra curricula activities was to provide various experiences for children. This study proposed some policy suggestions based on the survey results: the test of effectiveness of extra curricula activities, modification of the national child care curriculum, education for parents, and preparation for guidelines.
