영유아기 부모의 부부갈등이 초기 청소년기 자녀의 미디어기기 중독에 미치는 종단적 영향: 부모의 온정적 양육행동과 아동의 내재화 문제의 이중매개효과

Abstract

본 연구는 한국아동패널 2~12차 1,994가구를 대상으로 초기 청소년기 미디어기기 중독의 종단적 영향을 분석하였다. 그 결과, 영유아기 때 높은 부부갈등은 초기 청소년기 때 미디어기기 중독을 직접적으로 높이는 것으로 나타났고, 유아기 시기 부모의 부족한 온정적 양육행동과 아동기 자녀의 높은 내재화 문제를 통해 간접적으로도 미디어기기 중독을 높이는 것으로 나타났다. 끝으로 미디어기기 중독 예방을 위한 다각적인 조기 개입의 필요성과 방안에 대해 논의하였다.

This study examined the longitudinal developmental pathways of children’s media device addiction level in early adolescence (age 11 years). Using data from Panel Study of Korean Children data on 1,994 households (W2-W12), direct effects of interparental conflict (at age 1-4 years) mediating roles of parental warmth (at age 5-6 years) and children’s internalizing problems (at age 9 years). Results of structural equation modeling indicated that interparental conflict in toddlerhood significantly and directly increased the media device addiction level in early adolescence. In addition, interparental conflict in toddlerhood led to a lack of parental warmth and high levels of internalizing problems in children, which consequently increased their media device addiction level in early adolescence. These findings will inform early intervention efforts to prevent media device addiction.
