Abstract

This study exploratively tried the computation of CPI(Childreaing Price Index) for the household of young children 0~5 year olds in Seoul city. The acute product items were carefully selected based on the 2012 childrearing cost survey data, and the expenditure weight were re-adjusted for 2013 year. The market price survey module was designed by 4 kinds of studies - Offline market price survey, Online market price survey, Parental online sensory survey of the level and the fluctuation of childrearing prices, and the Phone survey of ECEC and related services for young children. Four kinds of CPI were designed and computed: the CPI uniquely for the household of 0~5 year old children, were confirmed. Also the necessity of young parents' sensory price index(CSI) - i. e., childrearing consumer are confirmed and need to be provided together with the market price index of CPI.
