As the 3-step progress plan for ECEC integration (2014-2016) of the Office for ECEC integration in the Office for Government Policy Coordination is still ongoing but there is a little indication of fruitfulness of integration, although it reaches the 3rd final year of the completion in terms of the 3-year plan, there are many questions and concerns of what the current status and future plans of Korean ECEC integration are. There have been 13 tasks to be completed in the 3-year integration roadmap plan of 2013, and their detailed plans and processes for the integration of 13 areas (i.e., information, payment card, assessment/accreditation, facility standards, price, operation hours, teacher qualification, education, and working condition, law and department in charge) were discussed and prepared through series of research projects and there was supervision of the results and plans through the action committee. The purpose of this study was to figure out what the unexplained and unresolved issues and tasks are at this point of 2016, and discuss the strategies for improving them, in order to fill in the gaps and holes in the 13 tasks of 3-year plan. This study mainly selected 2 themes among them: 1) integration plans for government at the local level, 2) strategies for implementing the planned integration in the 10~13 areas of integration, and tried to provide detailed plans for local government integration and implementation strategies. Also remained issues or blind areas were addressed and thus the best options and possible strategies were discussed.
