부모가 지각한 부부갈등이 온정적 양육태도와 가족유연성을 매개로 유아의 사회적 유능감에 미치는 영향: 자기-상대방 상호의존모형(APIM)을 적용한 종단 매개효과 분석

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 어머니와 아버지가 지각한 부부갈등과 온정적 양육태도 및 가족유연성 간 자기효과와 상대방효과를 각각 검증하고, 부부갈등이 온정적 양육태도 및 가족유연성을 매개로 유아의 사회적 유능감에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 종단적으로 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 한국아동패널 5차 연도(2012년)～7차 연도(2014년) 부모 1,352쌍의 자료를 자기-상대방 상호의존모형(APIM)을 활용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과 첫째, 어머니와 아버지 모두 부부갈등(2012년)이 온정적 양육태도(2013년)에 미치는 자기효과가 부적으로 유의하였고, 상대방효과는 어머니의 부부갈등이 아버지의 온정적 양육태도에 부적 영향을 미치는 경로만이 유의하였다. 자기효과 간 유의한 차이는 없었다. 둘째, 어머니와 아버지 모두 부부갈등(2012년)이 가족유연성(2013년)의 지각에 미치는 자기효과와 상대방효과가 부적으로 유의하였다. 효과 크기 비교 결과, 부부갈등이 가족유연성에 부적인 영향을 미치는 자기효과는 어머니가 더 큰 것으로 나타났으며, 상대방효과 간에는 유의한 차이가 없었다. 셋째, 어머니의 부부갈등은 온정적 양육태도 및 가족유연성을 매개로 하여 유아의 사회적 유능감(2014년)에 부적인 영향을 미치는 간접효과가 유의하였다. 아버지의 경우에는 부부갈등이 유아의 사회적 유능감에 미치는 직접효과와 간접효과가 모두 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 부모의 관계적 특성을 함께 고려하여 유아의 사회적 유능감 발달에 영향을 미치는 경로를 종단적으로 검증하였다는 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this research was to verify (a) actor-partner effects between marital conflict and affective parenting and between marital conflict and family flexibility and (b) longitudinal effects of marital conflict, affective parenting, and family flexibility on social competence of preschoolers within dyadic interactions of parents. An analysis was conducted with 1,352 couples and their children using Actor-Partner Independence Model (APIM). Samples were originated from 5th (2012) to 7th (2014) waves of PSKC collected by KICCE. The main results of this study were as follows. First, the actor effect of marital conflict on affective parenting was significantly negative in both mothers and fathers, but there was no significant difference between actor effects. The partner effect was significantly negative only in fathers. Second, the actor and partner effects of marital conflict on family flexibility were significant negatively in both mothers and fathers. Third, mothers' affective parenting and family flexibility evaluation had a complete mediation effect on the path between marital conflict and social competence of preschoolers. The results emphasize that marital conflict can cause a long-term negative effect on children's adjustment when it has a negative influence on positive parenting or family adaptability. This study has a significance in that it examined the mutual dynamism of marital conflict, affective parenting, family flexibility of mothers and fathers and their longitudinal mediating effects on social competence of preschoolers.
