Abstract
This study aimed to explore concerns of infant child care and outline the critical challenges and issues of ensuring high-quality child care for infants. In examining these approaches, literature reviews on different child-care policies provided overview of existing determinants in quality of child-care and current issues faced by different countries. In addition, 400 parents, 271 directors and 422 teachers in child-care center participated in survey and observational investigation and professions in academics and professional workers in child care center were engaged in 11 times advisory meeting.
As a result, the issues were raised concerning the diverse needs of infant child-care by parental characteristics (i.e. maternal occupation, income level, etc.) and appropriate training and working conditions for staff in child-care center to deliver high-quality infant care. Those approaches to high-quality child-care for infant provided several strategies like followed. Firstly for the caring conditions, compliance of staff to child ratio and improvements on space requirements per infant were discussed. Secondly for staff profiling, additional teach training and better working conditions were raised. Parents education, intensive cooperations between child-care center and parents (i.e. sharing information and responsibility to care the infants, etc) and public investment in services including infrastructure in local governments were challenged issues as well.
